About Our Mission

It all started with a simple Facebook post about irresponsible people dumping cats in our community. A few like-minded individuals decided we were tired of a problem that no one was taking care of, but everyone wanted to complain about. We all love cats and kittens, but it makes us sad finding copious amounts of cats and kittens in our bushes. Thus, Luna Paws was born!

We are a group of volunteers with full time jobs and families using our spare time and resources to make a difference by trapping and spay/neutering outdoor stray and feral cats. If cats or kittens are friendly, we network with various rescue groups to help find them placement for adoption. If cats are not able to be socialized, they are returned to their colonies to live out the rest of their days kitten free!

We make appointments with local low cost clinics for the spay/neuter surgeries and to take care of any other medical issues the cats may have.

We are a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. Our program is funded by generous donations and fundraising. We receive no state or federal funding.

Our mission is to reduce and control the population of feral and stray cats through Trap-Neuter-Adopt (“TNA”), Trap-Neuter-Return (“TNR”), TNR education, and cat adoption in Luna Pier, Michigan and the surrounding areas.
